THE GREAT-GRAND ESCAPE is a review/tribute of the mythical escape films of the sixties and seventies that explains, in a humorous way, the epic lived by four octogenarian grandparents who, tired of always being confined within the four walls of the nursing home, one night they decide to run away to go to the movies. They will cross sea, land and air to achieve their goal and along the way they will show us that it is never too late to undertake the greatest of adventures! A story of overcoming explained through music, tap dancing and body percussion that reminds us that the limits are only within our mind
A show for all audiences in the universal language of rhythm and sense of humour.

WOODBEATS was created in 2016 by the choreographer and dancer Anna Llombart with the aim of making percussive dance a means to tell stories. Merging the disciplines of tap dance, body percussion and performance, she has worked since then to develop her own plastic language where rhythm becomes the backbone of the artistic expression, intimately linked to dramatic discourse. The Great-grand escape arises from this very aim. It is the result of a commission from the AUCER (Cerdanya University Association) to take part in the Nit de les Arts (Night of the Arts) . In order to work on the performing side, stage director Toni Sans joined the artistic team. The show was officially premiered on 9th January 2021 at Casal Societat La Principal in Vilafranca del Penedès.
